|

I have only successfully done data logging one time, and it worked great that one time. Ever since, after naming the recording session the computer gives an error message (I will get a screen shot of this tonight) but I believe it says something about a method or object - and then WinTEC disappears.
On my desktop computer which is NOT connected to the ECU (which has WinTEC4.5.25 ) after naming the recording session I get the following error:
Run-time error '438':
Object doesn't support this property or method.
I am not positive if this is the same error I get on my laptop, but off the top of my head I do think it is the same. Either way I will get a screen shot or the appropriate error message later tonight.
Has anybody else experienced this issue, and is there anything I can do to troubleshoot the problem? I plan on saving my BIN files to a different folder and then removing WinTEC4 - deleting any thing left in the folders and then reinstalling it.
Anything else I could/should try?
Thanks,
Chris

So it turns out this IS the same exact error that I get when the laptop is hooked up to the TECgt.
One this I notice is that when I switch to the 'flight recorder' the gauges freeze up. In the screenshot I provided I was not hooked up to the ECU, but the error message is the same either way.
And when I AM connected, once I click to the flight recorder tab, the display of my gauges on the bottom of the screen freezes.

Also I have removed the WinTEC4 software 3 times, and even deleted the entire directory since some files were left behind. This has not helped the issue at all either...
Looking for any suggestions at this point...

Well thanks to Fred I know what I was doing wrong. Even though I was hooked up to the TECgt (although not in the screenshot) I did not have my current BIN file loaded into the WinTEC software.
Once I loaded the appropriate BIN file I was able to datalog just fine.
Grrr user error.
Thanks for the help!
In case I missed this in the manuals then I am just a dumbass, but if not - may I suggest adding this info to the next revision of your manuals? It certainly wasn't made clear in anything that I recall reading.
Now to make some tuning progress!
