Yes I have lots and lots of time on this version. It is Totally awesome and built from the ground up, not at all based off the old dos POO. It is currently only available with the GT and EMI is hoping to have it work with the Tec3R's but that is not going to happen soon. Anything Older than the Tec3 is not being looked at for upgrading, hell EMI is having a hard time finding service parts for the old Tec2's. Anyone that wants to upgrade their Tec2 to a 3r or Gt let me know, might be able to get EMI to give me a credit on the Tec2. _________________ Vic Sias

Hi all, my first post here. I to have been racing with a Tec II system, bought it new in late 99, overall has been a good and reliable system but last season I started to have a few issues. For no apperent reason the fuel pump relay control circuit shuts down intermittantly. Also It has always had a software problem with key on, engine off pump run on. My question is will EMI still repair these units? I do not want to buy a new system after all the money and time I spent on this unit. Any advice appreiciated....Warren
Sorry, maybe wrong thread for this post?

I also heard from EMI that the Tec3 and newer "should" get the WinTec 4 but it may be a long wait. _________________ -John

That's true. We have a lot of things going on right now and the WinTEC4 upgrade for the TEC3 is a somewhat lower priority because WinTEC3 is now a pretty stable platform.
This will probably be one of the first places that the WinTEC4 upgrade for the TEC3's will be announced along with our website. If I have my way, we'll have it no later than PRI (December) this year. But I don't always get my way. _________________ Jon

card counter,
Don't hold your breath. Consider this:
The initial 4.0 release was back in July 2005
It was originally developed using the Tec3r
The TEC3 options were turned off in July 2006
Been waiting ever since "needs some tweaks", "should be ready ..."
Lastly, if there is no financial incentive to release it for the Tec3r, why should EMI care when (or if) it gets released.
I actually had a release that would recognize the Tec3r and it looked slick - unfortunately, I accidentally deleted it and the later releases had already turned off the Tec3 options.
Jon,
Didn't mean to hit the negative chord, but I've been asking "when" for a long time.

Hey Jon,
How about you create a sticky with a estimated release date for the TEC3r version of the WinTEC4 software. You could post periodical updates to the software (fixed IAC bug, cleaning up display, etc..) and the release date so we would know where the code is at and if the release date is (hopefully) moved closer (180 days to release and counting, etc.).
This way one could just check the sticky instead of being in the dark and really know that it is being worked on. You could lock user posting so it is only used for the intended purpose.
Tell Fred Bob asked "Pretty Please".

Ok Jon,
I'll start the clock. PRI starts on December 11, 2008, so:
181 Days to WinTEC4 for the TEC3r!
5 months, 28 days
25 weeks (rounded down)
4344 hours
260,640 minutes
15,638,400 seconds
We're counting on you JON! |

nefarious,
I think the WinTEC4 countdown clock deserves it's own thread - can it be moved?
