darkgsx made a new map for me a whileback, and i finally got to try it out the other day. everything worked fine until the next time i tried to start the car. now its throwing error57 which i feel sure is a problem with the map being saved to the tec3. unfortunatly my laptop is still on ME and my flashdrive doesnt work on anything older than XP so my map is saved to a floppy. my old map that is on the same floppy is working fine, so i cant figure out why the new map wont work now? any ideas guys?

Error code 57 is defined as a "Spare Output Failure", specifically the spare output is either in an over current situation or is shorted to 5V.

Apparently it's an output that can be used to light an LED to indicate that the internal datalogging is running.

Quote:
F.4.b. The Spare Output Function and Harness Layout
The spare output is configured as a pull-to-ground output for the activation of a Datalog
Status Light. If the spare output is wired to a light bulb, the light will flash when the on-board
datalogging function has been turned on. When the datalogging function is turned off, the light
will cease to flash. Wire the spare output light as you would a shift light (see Figure F.4 2).
Section X provides a more in-depth look at the Datalog Status Light.

Spare Output Terminal G21 White w/ Orange Stripe
(note: early units may use White w/ Black Stripe)

Ask Travis to be sure but I don't think he would have wired that SOF up on your car unless you requested it. In that case you need to check wiring coming out of the Tec plug and make sure that wire isn't making contact with anything else.

yea i did get to drive it with your map and it ran much smoother. i guess either i didnt save it to the tec or the tec just decided not to take it. ill have to get somebody more computer literate than myself to help me with it i guess. remember the walk through you had to give me on the thumbdrive?
