When I first had my TEC unit, any settings in there would cause idle issues so I zeroed it out and never had a problem since. Do you guys leave the factory settings or play with different settings?

Thanks,

Anthony

Not too many responses so I'll ask another way, can you guys check your voltage compensation settings and post what you have in there?

Thanks,

Anthony

I'm currently using 150uS/V with no issues.

Back when I was using the TEC3r I had some issues with getting a smooth idle and idle droop. IIRC correctly Jon recommended that I reduced the compensation value to 20us/V as it was felt that (at least for my application - large low impedance injectors) the standard value was too large.

It has been a while since I ran the TEC3r though - moved to the TECgt almost 2 years ago and that uses a non-linear relationship.

If the car is running fine with the number you have in there, you probably don't need to mess with it. This setting really only has an effect when the alternator voltage in the car varies. So this is most useful if you have a drag car with no alternator, or a street car where failure of the alternator or extreme temperatures could be a problem.

I suggested 20-25 because Larry at HPWorks (whom I guess many of you have worked with or spoken to at one time or another) has messed with this on an injector flow bench and found that to work the best with Bosch/Siemens injectors. If you have other injectors, a different value might work better for you.

went from 60us/v to 25us/v and that smoothed the idle for me.160# ford motorsport injectors which i think are Bosch renamed.
Thanks to Fred for that little gem..
