Starter noise interferes with the mag sensor on the crankshaft. I can tell because I sometimes get a flash of a tach signal in Wintec4 the moment the starter is released. When I isolate the starter, disconnect chassis power and supply it with a jump box, the signal is fine and the engine starts.

Ran power and ground home runs between the battery and ECU. Checked every ground I could think of. Tried a ‘noise filter’ on the power lead. No luck. Any suggestions?

Working on a new TecGT install on a turbo 535i BMW M30, E34 chassis. Must of the original harness ha been retained.
