I bought a small dc to ac convertor that plugs in to the cig lighter.
Only because my lap top battery sucks. _________________ 9 second BMW with A/C and leather seats

Your laptop will connect fine when running on battery. The only time we ask that you plug in your laptop is during a firmware upgrade. That because we don't want your battery to die in the middle of the process. This was a bigger deal with the TEC3's which couldn't recover from a failed upgrade without coming back to us.
With the TECgt, XDI-2 and all future products, the systems can be recovered in the field quite easily, so it's not really a big deal.
If your battery lasts long enough to do what you need, don't feel you need to be plugged in all the time. _________________ Jon
