This is where I spend my small bit of free time. I have had the car for 10 years and it has been on the road for the last 2. Its a 1974 DeTomaso Pantera. Power was originally a Ford 351 Cleveland but has since been swapped out for a 412 CI SVO aluminum dry sump motor. Pistons are Venolia 8:1 cr , rods are narrowed Childs and Alberts, Comp Cams custom grind, Edelbrock Victor JR heads extensively worked, T&D machine shaft mount rocker system, Modified EdelBrock Super Victor Manifold, Ford forged steel crank, custom build 321 burns stainless headers. Also had the block machined for dome oilers and 180 degree main oiling. The oiling comes from a 5 stage Barnes pump. Just to make things a bit more exciting I threw on a pair of Turbonetics T-70's , Tial Gates and a Custom Spearco intercooler. Of course the brain of it all is a Tec3 system. The Seats are Sparco pro 2000's with Crow harnesses. A full cage and box tubing in the rockers stiffens it all up a bit and the HRE wheels and Michelin Pilots keep it stuck to the road. I just attended the EFI 101 course so plan to enjoy the car A LOT more this summer.

Very nice! My buddy Jeremy Casner used to work at the Pantera shop in Castle Rock Colorado. He would get a kick out of this car. I know you mentioned you just attended the 101 course , but do you currently have any numbers that you are making? I cant imagine you are running more than probably 7lbs of boost at the moment with those twin 70's, right? Doesn't look like you have any form of boost controller hooked up to the waste gates, but even 7lbs is a shitload of air from two of those monsters. _________________

Thanks guys! The gates are currently sprung for 10psi and I see about 11 on my map sensor. I have only made a partial dyno run. The operator let off at 4500 rpm and it was making 650 ft/lbs. I plan to get a solid tuning session on it soon and get some more numbers. I also plan to use the TEC for boost control in the near future. As for Pantera Performance in Colorado I have ordered many parts from Dennis and will pretty much only use him if I need Pantera parts. He has always been helpful and the parts I have recieved have always been exactly as described. Good guys over there.

I'm still pissed at my dad for not buying one. Back in the early 80's he looked at bunch and was so close to buying one, but pussed out. Rats for me. _________________ 1973 Datsun 240z (Turbo Build on its way!)

Thanks for the comments. Jeff, the EFI 101 courses teach you how to professionally tune electronic fuel injection. They are quite informative and I recommend them to anyone. I hope to get the car all tuned in this summer which is why I will enjoy it a lot more.
