The monitor screen (on fly or analog) errors out. After selecting either the TEC makes contact but RPM readout nearly instantly goes to 99,999 RPM and then errors out. Proramming the TEC works fine however. The laptop has been used for over a year without any troubles and uses a DB-9 serial port. The serial port has been checked and it is working properly, according to XP.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the info Vergil. After uninstalling SP3 the monitor screen works properly. Who would have thunk Microsoft made incompatible code?
