Does anyone know where to find (or how to calculate) an injectors minimum pulse width?

Specifically I'm using the stock 24 lb injectors from a 2003 Ford Mach I.

TIA,
S

stanps,
Try the RC injector calulators: http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx
I recall that Edelbrock also had a whole section on injector math on their site.

Cool, thank! From what I can tell, the minimum PW seems to be whatever works best. I'm not able to find any actual specification as to the what the minimum PW is for the stock Ford 24 lb injector.

Not sure what you are trying to arrive at, but the easiest way to determine the minimum opening time (I am assuming this is what you are trying to find out) is to contact the manufacturer of your injectors for their specification or check their website to see if it is listed.

Not knowing what you are specifically looking for, and generally speaking, the minimum operating time is measured in milliseconds and can vary depending on coil (driver) design, impedance and construction. Other considerations are flow rate (43.5 psi is a standard measure) and seat design (Ball & Seat, Disc, Pencil and Pintle), which can contribute to a particular injectors operating characteristics.

Again, generally speaking, Low impedance injectors typically have a shorter opening time, and a longer closing time, than high impedance injectors.

If you look at the Precision Injector site http://www.precisionturbo.net/fuelsystems.php, you will see that their 24Lb injectors have a minimum opening time of 1.660 Ms and a closing time of .970 Ms, so in theory, you could fire them every 2.63 Ms, but of course, they would be in a static state (essentially, always open) and would probably overheat is a short time (injectors usually have a recovery time, sort of a rest time, before the driver is operated again to avoid overheating and failure).

All these contribute to an injector’s duty cycle, and it is generally accepted to operate injectors at a maximum 80-85% duty cycle. What you would be better off doing is use the on-line injector calculators to arrive at the optimal injector size for your particular power requirements.

Hope this helps.
