What do you guys have this set to?

I currently have it set to DE0= 0%

When i had the car on the dyno a few weeks ago we saw about 30-35C on the MAT sensor... at one time with a little time idling, it showed about 40C...

When i drove the car outside the MAT did show around 20-25C in the cold weather... this then resulted in a little leaner AFR... im going back on the dyno on friday with a new turbo on the engine... and i would like to get some feedback on what to set this enrichment to... Smile

Thanks
Asim

Asim,

DE0 adds or removes fuel on slope centered on 25C (77F). The amount of slope depends on the value used for DE0. The smaller the number the more gradual the slope. Making sub 25C temps richer by increasing DE0 will make for leaner conditions above 25C without a corresponding offset to the entire slope.

I have developed an Excel speadsheet to help calculate the amount of DE0 and or VE offset needed. Your email will get you a copy.

When you saw 20-25C MAT's outside what was ambient temperature?

Brian

Thanks for the input buddy... really helpful!
You can send it to my mail: asim.gondal (at) gmail.com
I will uploade it to a webspace i have so other people can dowload it if they want... if thats ok with you?

I would like to know what value other people have used for the MAT enrichment.

When i saw 20-25C the ambient temperature was about -2C - 0C

Thanks
Asim

I have uploaded the excel spreadsheet here:
http://home.no/mrhappy/tec2/

Im having a little trouble understanding the whole thing... damn language barrier... Confused

As it looks to me... i should set DE0=7% ?

Also.. the MAT sensor was placed in the plenum.. where it got heated up by engine heat when idling... now i have moved the MAT to a pipe between the plenum and the intercooler... this will probably give a more accurate MAT reading...

Thanks again Brian for this... really helpful Smile

Asim,

Put your current DE0 settings in the Original column, leave the VE offset at zero.

Use the other two columns to test changes to the slope with or without additional changes to your VE table.

In my case, as shown in the spreadsheet, I went from a DE0 of 4% to a DE0 of 4% with an additonal 2 % added to my upper VE row. Ended up at a DE0 of 7% with 1 % added to the upper row and kept warm weather adjustments at the same place becasue fo the change in slope with an offset of 1. Make sense?
