For a good while now, when I connect the laptop to adjust my tune, I see an intermittent cam angle sensor failure message. I have never seen a cam sensor failure when datalogging and, as far as I can tell, it must only appear occasionally post starting. I also saw this occasionally on my TEC3r. Engine runs fine and it doesn't seem to be proving a problem.

Anyone else seen this? Is it normal on start-up to see the odd cam sensor signal failure? Should I investigate (it's my daily driver so would want to catch any potential problems before they arise by the side of the road). If so where should I look? I've checked that the signal is occurring inside the TECs required window.

Don't worry too much about a cam sensor failure, it won't strand you anywhere.

Could be noise from something else, but I really don't know what. Is the cam input set for Hall? Do you ever see a check engine light? If yes, and no repectively, I suspect it may be a false engine code. We've got an update coming soon that addresses that issue. Other than that, I'm not really sure.

Cam is set to hall. I've not had the check engine light operational for a while - I have a switch in its circuit so I can turn it on and off as the flashing (due to stored cam errors?) was annoying me. I'll turn it back on. What I can say though is that if I start the engine and then clear the codes I never see one no matter how long I run it for it is from that experience that I suspect it is occurring during startup.

It's startup, I get the same message from time to time, especially if I am cranking slow.
