You can use a GPO set to full table control (set to 16 or 24 Hz, 30Hz on a TEcgt) and use a simple vaccuum valve (selects between the source and atmosphere, I think many boost control solenoids do this) to control the reference pressure to your wastegate. 0% dutycycle gives you boost up to your wastegate spring pressure, 100% gives you all the boost your turbo can make. Percentages in between will give you boost in between. I would need to look up how to plumb the vaccuum lines, but the instructions are included with the boost control solenoid that we sell.
You can go a step further by adding a potentiometer to an input in the TEC set to GPO dutycycle trim. This will allow you to adjust the boost curve up and down as needed.
No new software is required. _________________ Jon

The boost control solenoid isn't on the web site. You'd need to download a copy of our catalog and find it in there.
The TECgt is on the site I have in my signature. _________________ Jon

Racernet prices:
Power harness - $99
Boost Control Solenoid - $61
The catalog is on distributorless.com under the Products menu (last option). Or at http://distributorless.com/products/catalog.php
s52e368 - Yes, the solenoid, and the strategy I detailed above will work on the TEC3r. _________________ Jon

Jon,
So then I would have to connect a trim (POT) to GPI 1 to use it to trim GPO 1 for boost control with a solenoid, correct (1 to 1 correlation)? After I trim the boost curve, can I save the values to a bin and program the TEC3r, and then disconnect the trim to free up GPI 1 for other uses?

After you're happy the level of the table (from adjusting the knob), note the trim amount from the monitor screen and add that amount to the whole table (don't bother with the areas where it's all zero). Then you can save the BIN file and take the knob out.
Unfortunately, there isn't any place to put just a permanant GPO table offset. _________________ Jon

| So the other trims (fuel, advance, etc..) can be done the same, including individual injectors (sequential), correct? I am thinking that a trim module with a mulit-position switch (maybe 5 position, 1 for off) could be mounted and used to swith between the GPI's as needed. Or maybe a dual trim so 2 GPI's could be trimmed at the same time (fuel and advance).

Indeed they could. The selection switch is a novel idea, but the dual pot box has been used by one of the FSAE teams when they dyno tune thier engine.
It works very nicely and makes tuning pretty quick.
There is not an option to tune just one injector (individual cylinder trims) with a pot, just the whole fuel curve. But I'm pretty sure that isn't what you were asking. _________________ Jon

Maybe I'll actually get around to make a trim panel, but I will have to give some thought to layout and wiring - don't want to accidently add a resistive load into a circuit or sensor.
Yes, I meant to convey my setup is full sequential injection. Sorry for not being clear.
